BHTA HIGHLIGHTS BARBADOS’ DESTINATION BRAND THROUGH ITS MEMBERS AT CONNECT BARBADOS

OVER 80 tour operators from around the world got up-to-date information on Barbados and the offerings of members of the Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association (BHTA) during the recent Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc.’s (BTMI) Connect Barbados.

This came by way of a presentation by BHTA CEO Rudy Grant, who addressed the participants during the three-day conference and highlighted the various segments of the Association’s membership, which make-up Brand Barbados as a destination.

Grant updated on renovations and upgrades being carried out by BHTA accommodation members as well as recent properties and brands to come to the island and join the Association.

He also gave information on member villas, attractions and activities and the wide range of restaurants that make-up the island’s culinary landscape, giving the tour operators a closer look at the make-up of the Association and its members.

He said, “Connect Barbados is the perfect opportunity for us to update tour operators from our main source markets - the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Canada, Europe and the Caribbean and Latin America - on what the island and our members have to offer.

“It is definitely one of the major marketing events for our members as it gives us the platform to showcase the island. Members took full advantage of the event by engaging the operators and meeting with them one-on-one to give more detailed information.”
